About the earrings

Hello! Thank you for stopping by. All the earrings you see on this site are totally handmade by one small Scottish person. They're made from high-quality polymer clay, and the findings (the bits that go in your ears) are all sterling silver plated. These are nickel free, so should be nice and hypoallergenic for most wearers. The highly detailed designs do look like they'd be very heavy to wear, but polymer clay is a super lightweight material. Even the largest and most detailed earrings weigh less than a gram. You won't even feel like you're wearing them!

My aim is always to make something that people will both love to wear, and love to look at, so think of this as wearable art! Every piece is unique and has been meticulously crafted - even the colours.

About the process

All of the earrings I sell are made in small batches by hand and the process of making them is as sustainable as possible. I use minimal electricity in the making process and endeavour to ensure that virtually no materials are wasted either.

Every pair of earrings starts with a pasta machine and then the design takes shape by means of a variety of techniques - including making little flowers with nothing but careful fingers and a needle. Sometimes the clay is cut out first, and then each earring is made individually, and sometimes a whole design is made first before being cut into earrings after - see, like in the picture!

After I'm happy with how the earrings look on my desk, I bake them, but the process is far from over. Once they're baked and cooled, I sand each piece with a Dremmel, then I wash them, then I glue them, and then I assemble them. When they're all done I pin them on their cards, which are made from recycled paper. It's all very slow, but that's how you know you're getting something really special.

About the maker

Hi! I'm the one who makes the earrings. I'm called Emily, I'm 23 and I'm very pleased that you're here. Thank you for coming! I started making earrings in 2020; like everyone else, I was struggling for anything else to do, and I also needed to find some way to fund my own earring addiction. Ever since then, I've been teaching myself how to make flowers out of clay. Apart from earrings I also love the theatre, dancing, and reading. I love cuddling my dog. I love Tina Turner on a spiritual level. I'm a huge nerd, and the extent of my brain's capacity for useless knowledge about fictional worlds should never be underestimated.

I've also got a bit of a thing for sunflowers.

I am endlessly grateful to the people who support me enough that I am able to do this as a job; my family, my friends and my customers. I am a lucky, lucky person. Thank you for being here!
